Got this back in April for $30 so about a $6 savings. It's ok... Depending on the age of the child, they may get bored if they are looking for colorful pictures. This is all black and white and not that many illustrations.

i believe so, it covers indigo league. in product desc it says "Discover the original adventures of Ash and his loyal Pikachu in this classic chapter book collection! These characters can be found in Pokemon GO and the classic animated series"
Can I enjoy these as an adult?
Trying to get back into reading books with as least friction as possible.
I'd suggest something like the Roald Dahl book set. it's 13 I think books, none very long. very easy read. very good stories. can easily read one in an afternoon.
Do you have reading challenges? What sort of "friction" have you encountered in the past?
No reading challenges if you're referring to dyslexia or anything like that.
Just finding the time or motivation to actually sit down and open a book. In recent cases, it just takes too long to get invested into the story and I end up tossing it aside and forgetting about it.
It's as others said, it's more of a beginner chapter book and not bad if your kids are into Pokémon.
I think I paid a bit more for this but it was still cheaper than what they were selling it for at the book fair at my kid's school where they first saw the set. I guess I didn't support the school but the price difference made it hard to justify. So think this is a decent price for the set.
There's one library system near us that had a bunch of nice kids books. Like these Pokemon chapter books, Marvel and DC picture type of books (a bit more advanced then picture books but not comic books), BOB learning how to read books, etc. Our own local library system didn't have those types of books but we would stop by that other one to check out books. May be worth checking out to see if your local library has these types of books if you're interested in them for your kids.

Sounds like you're the right kind of customer for an audiobook.
