If one expects to want to read both part 1 and part 2, it might make more sense to wait for a deal on the combined release. Otherwise, one would spend ~$12 to read what's in the $10 edition.

Then it looks like Blackstone acquired the rights to Clavell's back catalog in 2018, and when the FX series came out, they decided to split the book into two parts. It might make sense for the physical edition (the book being some 1700 pages), but for an e-book edition, there's literally no benefit to the consumer to having to buy two halves of a book at full price for each half...
